July 2nd, 2010

So I just downloaded the “Vuvuzela 2010″ iPhone app. Its great but to make it even more annoying I’ve made a small enhancement. :) The wife won’t be pleased when Brazil plays the Netherlands tomorrow!!!

Don’t Spend Your Life Undoing Your Life

March 20th, 2010

The other day an odd thought popped into my head. “Its harder to undo something than it is to do it.” At first I wasn’t even sure what I meant by that (and I was the one thinking it) but it eventually started to make sense. Think forest fires. Read more…

Back To Work

March 12th, 2010

Hi my name is Charles Godfrey and its been about 5 months since my last post. What the heck have I been doing you ask? Ok fine you didn’t ask, but lets just pretend you did. Basically I have just been working too much, running after my 1 year old, playing with my 4 year old, and documenting the business plan for a site that will compete with one of the biggest social networks in the world! So we’ll see where this blog goes. For now I’ll remain a bit “anti-social”. ;)

Freedom For Now Or Freedom For Life

June 10th, 2009

Are you choosing freedom for now, or freedom for life?

1 scoop now or many scoops later?

About a month ago I was at the mall and my daughter wanted to go to the kids play area. My wife however wanted to take her to another store to buy shoes.  So we gave her the option: play now for “only a little bit” or play after shoe-shopping for “a longer time”.  My 4 year old daughter paused for a minute, considered her options, asked me to confirm that she’d still get to play “today” either way, and then to my surprise decided to maximize her play time by shoe-shopping now. I was amazed and proud. Rarely do kids/young people delay instant gratification.  This got me thinking of the decisions I’ve made over the last 10 years. I wasn’t perfect, but realized I had made 4 decisions that changed my life forever. Read more…

Google Should Be Afraid, But Not Because Of Twitter

April 12th, 2009

All this talk of Twitter dethroning Google is very funny to me. I’m seriously pleading for Amy Poehler and Seth Meyers to do another Really?!? skit on SNL addressing this insanity! Read more…

The New Startup Company Anthem

April 9th, 2009

I’ve been working on a new idea I have for a startup for a few weeks now and its getting rough. How many nights can one actually go to bed at 3am and wake up at 7am?  How can one stay so focused and motivated ALL the time?  If you are in the same boat, you’ve probably read lots of advice on other blogs about books to read, blogs to visit, tweeters to follow, success stories to marvel. Those are all great, but for me, its the small things that motivate me even more. Read more…
