In any case, I hear ya man. The point wasn’t to say lets have a monopoly. I’m not for that either. Heck multiple companies could decide to share R&D time/money/resources/etc to come up with a single platform that they all use. Each could still focus on the rest of the car and be extremely competitive. I’m just saying there is a lot of unnecessary waste and suggested a possible crazy solution. Imagine if all US car companies shared the same platform today. How competitive do you think they’d be against foreign auto makers? Capitalism vs socialism is the furthest thing from my mind in this post.

Sliced bread was a failure for 15 yrs after being introduced to the market. It wasn’t until Wonder came along and with proper marketing made it a huge success. The point…no matter how obvious or logical an idea is, some ideas take a while to take hold. We’ll just have to wait and see.
