In any case, I hear ya man. The point wasn&#039;t to say lets have a monopoly. I&#039;m not for that either. Heck multiple companies could decide to share R&amp;D time/money/resources/etc to come up with a single platform that they all use.  Each could still focus on the rest of the car and be extremely competitive.  I&#039;m just saying there is a lot of unnecessary waste and suggested a possible crazy solution. Imagine if all US car companies shared the same platform today.  How competitive do you think they&#039;d be against foreign auto makers?  Capitalism vs socialism is the furthest thing from my mind in this post.

Sliced bread was a failure for 15 yrs after being introduced to the market.  It wasn&#039;t until Wonder came along and with proper marketing made it a huge success. The point...no matter how obvious or logical an idea is, some ideas take a while to take hold. We&#039;ll just have to wait and see.
