#NASATweetup: Breaking the news to my kids

This is basically what happened when I told my kids about me being selected for the Sun Earth Day NASA Tweetup.

Me: Hey guys! Guess what?

Kids: What’s up dad?

Me: I got selected to attend a NASA Tweetup! I’m so excited!

Kids: Cool! When do we all go?

Me: Um, actually, sorry guys. Its just for me this time.

Kids: What? No fair!

Me: Don’t worry, when you are 18 you can apply for one.

Kids: Whaaaaaaa!

Me: Hey guys, who wants ice cream?

Kids: Me! Me! Me!

So yeah, my 5 year old is pretty bummed that she can’t attend this tweetup with me.
Although I don’t like seeing her sad, I’m glad she’s excited about space and science.

Special thanks to Gavin for

1. Dressing appropriately.

2. Letting me use him as a prop.
